ABOUT JIM:

A 10-year veteran of the US Naval Special Warfare, SEAL. James’s secondary responsibility over the past 20 years has been in the combat medical field. Other specialties include Breacher/Methods of Entry, Military Free Fall, and Combat Diving. After separating from the Navy in the fall of 2004, James worked as an independent contractor with the CIA providing security for high-risk mobile operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. After returning CONUS worked as a lead firearms instructor/ medic at (AFETA) Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity Department of Defense. James holds an active Secret security clearance and is an NRA LE Instructor, Commercial Pilot, Cerified Diver and Parachutist.

ABOUT RICK:

A 13-year veteran of the US Naval Special Warfare, SEAL, and primary pilot for SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team 1/2. Ricks’ secondary responsibility over the past 20 years

has been in the combat medical field. Other specialties include Sniper, Breacher/Methods of Entry, Military Free Fall, and Combat Diving. After separating from the Navy in the fall of 2007 Rick worked as an independent contractor supporting the global war on terror, and instructor/medic at (AFETA) the Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity Department of Defense. NRA LE instructor and one of our lead instructors.

MATT KINDER

ABOUT MATT:

Matt is a native of Virginia Beach, VA. He spent just under 4 years as Naval Officer in Surface Warfare. His primary areas of responsibility were legal and engineering. He was a command subject matter expert in anti-terrorism/force protection. After leaving the Navy, Matt spent a year working in the firearms industry. In late 2019, Matt deployed to Afghanistan for a year as a private military contractor. He resides in Kentucky, where he works in the security field for the federal government. Matt & Jim have been close friends for 20 years. Matt assists at Orcus Group’s citizen courses and also runs marketing, content, communications, and social media.

ISIAH "MIJO" YOUNG

ABOUT MIJO:

Mijo grew up in a military household, with his father serving as a Rigger and Jumpmaster at Dam Neck and completing multiple deployments during the GWOT. He took an early interest in becoming proficient with firearms and eventually reached out to Orcus Group several years ago.

Mijo was one of Orcus Group’s first students. Through the completion of several courses, training extensively one-on-one with Jim, and honing his skills through disciplined practice outside of formal instruction, Mijo developed a high level of proficiency in firearms handling. His dedication and continued involvement with Orcus Group eventually led him from student to instructor. Today, Mijo assists with all levels of training and independently instructs one-on-one beginner courses.
