Below is a complete list of all the courses that we offer. See course calendar tab (under training) for our class schedule. We have outdoor ranges in Williamsburg & Suffolk, VA.
While these courses are entry level, they are very fast paced and progress far beyond the fundamentals by lunch-time. This is where nearly everyone will start, regardless of background. You may re-take any course for 50% off.
Overview:
This beginner/intermediate-level course will cover handgun fundamentals in the morning and progress to intermediate-level skill sets such as turn and shoot and forward/lateral movement. **Qualifies for Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
Pre Requisites:
- None. Beginner/Intermediate level course. Some experience encouraged, but not required.
Rates:
Scheduled Group Class: $350
Private Instruction: $100/hr (3-5hrs)
Overview:
This beginner/intermediate-level course will cover carbine zero/fundamentals in the morning and progress to intermediate-level skill sets such as malfunctions and forward/lateral movement. If you have never taken an 8hr carbine course, this is where you start!
Pre Requisites:
- None. Beginner/Intermediate level course. Some experience encouraged, but not required.
Rates:
Scheduled Group Class: $350 (8hrs)
Private Instruction: $100/hr (3-5hrs)
This course will cover life-threatening injuries that need to be addressed before EMS arrives to save a life. You could see them in a vehicle accident, the workplace, or even home. We will focus on bleeding, airway/breathing control, wound packing, etc. Ages 13+. A trauma first aid kit (IFAK) is included in the cost of the course for you to keep.
*Will have a special rate for course re-takes due to inclusion of the IFAK.
Overview:
This is an opportunity for alumni students to come out and use the range just like you would when you go to your local range. Bring as much ammo as you want and come shoot for the day. Jim will be on site to work with you on anything you'd like to improve on. Lunch provided. Shooting ends at 6pm. Property has a fire-pit and you are welcome to stay and hang out for a bit after.
Pre Requisites:
- Prior firearms training with Orcus Group (50% off retake excluded).
These courses require completion of the associated level I course, or a similar 8hr course of instruction with another training company that offers a similar 8hr course of instruction. Contact us for approval of outside pre-requisites. You may re-take these courses for 50% off.
Overview:
This intermediate-level course is not for new shooters. This course will work primarily from the inside-the-waistband holster. We will briefly work fundamentals before proceeding to more intermediate skill sets, such as inside the waistband holster draws, shooting from cover, target transitions, and contact shots.
Pre Requisites:
- Handgun I (or similar 8 hour course of instruction, contact us for approval).
Rates:
Scheduled Group Class: $350 (8hrs)
Private Instruction: $150/hr (3-5hrs)
Overview:
This course continues Level I. We will briefly work on fundamentals in the morning before proceeding to more intermediate skill sets, such as shooting from cover, target transitions, rifle/pistol transitions. This course is not for new shooters.
Pre Requisites:
- Carbine I (or similar 8 hour course of instruction, contact us for approval).
Rates:
Scheduled Group Class: $350 (8hrs)
Private Instruction: $150/hr (3-5hrs)
Overview:
You are welcome to bring a pistol, a rifle, or both providing you have completed the corresponding level I course. This course focuses on the employment of weapon-mounted flashlights in low-light. Topics include threat identification, effective light usage, engaging threats, etc. You must have completed a course with Orcus Group prior to attending.
Pre Requisites:
- Single Weapon: Corresponding Level I course.
- Rifle & Pistol: Both Level I courses (or above).
- Prior training with us.
You must have trained with Orcus Group at least once to attend one of these courses and meet the pre-requisites. You may retake these courses at 25% off.
Overview: We will focus on effective use of vehicles as cover, shooting around and beneath vehicles, shooting through windshields, etc. Not a driving course. You may bring a rifle, a handgun, or both.
Pre Requisites:
- If you're bringing a handgun only: Handgun I & II
- If you're bringing a rifle only: Carbine I & II
- If you're bringing a rifle & handgun: Carbine I & Handgun I + ONE Level II course.
- One Orcus Group Level II course for those who have completed training with other companies.
Overview: Close-quarters tactics tailored for citizens. We will focus on single-man methods of entry, movement, threat engagement, etc. This course is not for new shooters.
Pre Requisites:
- If you're bringing a handgun only: Handgun I & II
- If you're bringing a rifle only: Carbine I & II
- If you're bringing a rifle & handgun: Carbine I & Handgun I + ONE Level II course.
- One Orcus Group Level II course for those who have completed training with other companies.
